Ryan Freda, LMHC

Psychotherapist

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with almost 10 years of experience in helping others work through the struggles of life. I like to think of myself as a life-untangler who can help you put the puzzle pieces back together and live a more satisfying life. I am passionate about providing a comfortable environment where you can be heard, feel safe, and stay motivated to conquer any obstacle that stands in your way of success.

I am experienced helping those whose lives have been touched by the destruction of addiction and the struggles of mismanaged mental health. My specialties include addiction, substance use disorders, mood disorders, boundary issues, struggles with self-esteem, establishing healthy relationships, managing psychosis, relapse prevention, anxiety, and depression.

Many people struggle to identify their own struggles and are unsure of what type of help they need at first. Together we can identify the source of discomfort and work toward relieving all emotional turmoil. As Steve Jobs once said, “Great things in business are never done by one person.” I would feel honored to be a part of your path to success!

Philosophy of Treatment

  • Holistic Model

I approach therapy with a holistic approach considering all aspects of life when discussing remedies. Being a therapist who was trained to assess whole person, this is very much a centric part of my work. I believe that in order to address one issues, we need to look at the larger picture.

  • Relapse Prevention

There are many models to aid in Relapse Prevention, most are geared toward Substance Abuse. As an addiction specialist, I recognise that substance abuse is but one of the addictive disorders. Process addiction such as gambling, spending, and acting out are just a few of the ways in which repeated destructive behavior can ruin lives and families.

  • Solution Focused

As a solution focused therapist, I aim to support you in identifying what are the main problems you are struggling with. Once we do this, our goal changes to focus on ways we can address the issues you most care about  and work our way from there. Identifying the issue is a first step, but I know that action is then needed to accomplish your goals. I will go at your pace but equally challenge you. I provide a supportive, trustworthy and comfortable environment for you.
