Philosophy of Treatment

  • Cognitive Behavioral Foundation

In therapy, I find that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy are highly effective models. I believe that by changing the way we think and perceive situations in our lives, we can gain a new perspective that allows us to overcome challenges.

  • Client-Centered

As a client-centered therapist, I go at your pace. My belief is that my clients need a trusting environment to be able to be to explore their inner struggles. In our work, I will help you feel empowered by giving you training and education on skills you can use and help you gain a better understanding of your strengths. I truly believe that people can change if given good support, proper treatment, and openness to the process.

  • Strength-Based

Upon meeting a new client, I evaluate the whole person to get an understanding of the different areas in life. I know that your physical health, financial stability, spirituality, social and personal relationships, also contribute to your overall well-being. I will help you evaluate your strengths and work with you on a plan to get the support you need. I prefer to provide my client with interventions that are individualized to them. My approach is to listen and provide reassurance and then teach skills that you can use so you can have control of your life.
